Well, it all started about 10.5 years ago when the hubby and I met at a Christmas party. I liked his sense of style and humor, he liked my pilates butt. (seriously, he's a butt guy and yes, I used to work out) I think my charming personality added to the package! *wink, wink We dated 2 weeks, got engaged and married shortly after. I always said that I wanted 4 kids, until I had my 2 girls, and was perfectly content. Then God surprised us with a third pregnancy and a sweet little boy. After that I was done, done, done. Until that little nudging came back. Oh that nudging that only comes from the good Lord above. You can't run from it, you can't hide from it, it swarms you like an annoying fly. I feel like when you are still and just listen to what Christ is calling you to do, it will always be out of your comfort zone and it will always be big.
Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. - James 1:27
After bringing my nudging up to the hubby, for the 400th time, he said yes!!! After getting all of the paperwork together and had just been placed on the waiting list, we had a VERY unexpected pregnancy. Our little man made his appearance in August. We took a few months to soak him in and get into a new routine before we started our adoption journey back up. We got our referral of our little guy July 2, 2013! We are anxiously waiting to bring him home!
When deciding on a blog name, my mom (aka Honey) came up with You Grew In My Heart. When our precious little boy gets older I will say to his siblings, "You grew in my tummy, but Silas grew in my heart".
