I thought for sure by now I would be posting my birth story with pictures of our new baby. No such luck. I'm hoping that this is a sign that this baby is going to be super laid back. I am almost 39 weeks, and although most people go the full 40, I never thought that would be me! My other 3 hooligans were born between 37 and 38 weeks, so I just assumed that this one would follow suit. I was very surprised to make it to work last week and even more surprised that my very forceful exam on Monday didn't do the trick. Now everyday is comical and filled with me trying every old wives tale there is to try and kick start labor.
I'm trying to be patient and not let this waiting game make me even more pissy than I already am being pregnant. You see, I hate being pregnant. Judge all you want, I'm just being honest. Of course I LOVE the end result and would take 25 newborns if someone else would carry them for me. All my pregnancies start out with 20 weeks of vomiting and then the contractions kick in a few weeks later. I'm one of those people that contract at least every 10 minutes round the clock from about 25 weeks on. Although they are just Braxton Hicks, they are hard on my body. When you have so many all the time it just makes you sore, which means I don't sleep well, which means I'm a grump. By the time you get to the 4th, there are no naps or rest for the pregnant lady because I have 3 littles to take care of when I'm not standing on my feet all day at work. I know, throw me a pity party.
On a good note, my brother and sister and her family are all coming in to town over the next couple of days! I love it when they are all here, we have a lot of fun together. My sister is finding out what her 3rd baby is today. She has two stinky boys, so of course I'm pulling for a girl! On an even better note, my doctors office just called to tell me that I officially have an induction time of 8 am Monday morning. Ahhh...there is an end in sight. I really hope this baby decides to head South on it's own before then, but if not, he/she is getting the boot on the 20th!
The next few days will be filled with lots of cousin time, manis and pedis at Hawaiian Nail Bar and hopefully getting these gray roots covered! We are all so excited to meet this new little babe and can't wait to find out what it is! Today I'm thinking girl. Yesterday I was thinking boy. We shall see!
